Charm of Clooney – A Wishlist

I would have liked to have had the strength of character of a Churchill.
The pensiveness of Lincoln. Wit of Wilde and charm of Clooney. The rockstar edge of Morrison and the guts of either of the Martin Luthers.
The writing chops of Cervantes or Hemingway or Orwell.
Most of all I would have liked the patience of Kinder who has supported me in the pursuit of wishes and still seems to like the simple man I really am.

Carrie Fisher

In real life I fell in love with a woman who is feisty, tells it to me straight and is incredibly sexy. There are countless reason why she’s the perfect fit for me but I recognize that she does fit into a template that was cast by a woman we lost today.

Carrie Fisher.

In later years, the young woman who chose me has changed in a variety of ways. She has encountered challenges and she has bested them. Sometimes with my aid and many times without. In spite of this on going metamorphosis at the core she is still so very strong and a force of nature I get to spend time with.

In the last couple of years I learned from Carrie’s stories that she had to overcome many self imposed demons and some events that would shake us all to the core. In her one woman performance “Wishful Drinking” she laid out the challenges that even the royalty of Hollywood must endure. She shared her stories with a smile and seemed at peace with her station in life.

She enjoyed the same sense of self that my wife too embodies at times.

I am grateful for being the hero woman that she was. On and off the screen.

May the Force be with her…Always!

Who’s the Boss

Now some may disagree but I happen to be a pretty good manager of things.
Under my watch my clients are kept up to date on their home purchases, kids are picked up from camp, laundry gets done, dogs get petted, and I even get some time to draft snappy little blog posts to all y’all.

That’s all great but some of it seems a little empty when the Torres Family CEO is not here at headquarters overlooking…and though I am proud to see her travel for work I am looking forward to that moment she sets foot back at Casa Torres so we can chill and watch some Netflix together.

To My Wife Before Valentine’s Day

I remember the first time I saw you walking into that college history class.

Looked forward to our first real date on the beach.
Our first kiss redefined what I would ever want in a pair of lips.
Volts of electricity shot up my back when you first said those “three” words.
Elated when you said yes and agreed to be my wife.

Yelled it from the rooftops each time you told me we’d have our babies.
Only think of our family when the challenges of life manifest.
Unwavering in my belief that there is so much good to come for us.

I LOVE YOU!
