Charm of Clooney – A Wishlist

I would have liked to have had the strength of character of a Churchill. 
The pensiveness of Lincoln. Wit of Wilde and charm of Clooney. The rockstar edge of Morrison and the guts of either of the Martin Luthers. 
The writing chops of Cervantes or Hemingway or Orwell.
Most of all I would have liked the patience of Kinder who has supported me in the pursuit of wishes and still seems to like the simple man I really am.

Character

Would he have considered his dream realized?

I believe that despite some hold outs, we do live in a nation where we are not judged by the color of our skin.

But what happened to the content of our character?

As a whole, are we the type of society where individual character is celebrated? Do we truly understand the gravity and consequence of the words we use?

In so many ways we’ve made progress. We’ve also taken many steps back.

What would he have thought of America today? A dream realized? A dream squandered? A dream in process?

I have no answers…just questions today.
