For all of your life every since step you’ve taken has been under our watchful eyes.
Despite our lack of answer at times your mom and I have poured ourselves into making you the little person you are today.
Tomorrow you take your first steps on your own and start making a batch of memories that are yours and yours alone.
I am tearing up as I write this and I am glad you are not here to see it.
In the morning I will put on a happy confident face even though my heart is splitting inside. You deserve my strength and you will have it.
Tomorrow your mother and I will hold each other for a few. Feeling every minute that you’re away.
